Ok, so we've all seen the Katy Perry fireworks video but have you ever wondered how it was created?

Well, Anthony Chappina gives a breakdown of the firework tool that he created in Houdini for the Katy Perry's music video. He says, "Complete custom setup with lots of art direction controls built in and a custom caching/rendering workflow. Lots of python, dozens of OTLs, lost my mind".

Good work Anthony. By the way, Lana Del Rey just used our firework footage in her music video, so the next time you need some fireworks footage just get in touch, it might save you a load of hours :)
