Macao International Fireworks Display

WHAT: MACAO INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY CONTEST 2016

Over the years more than 100 professional international display teams have taken part in this amazing competition. The area is packed with those enjoying a luxury holiday and the fireworks can be viewed from numerous vantage points including the promenade, the Macao Tower and Taipa Island.

The competitors will all adhere to a theme as follows:

The event ends on 1st October which is China’s National day so the final days events will be particularly important as both teams competing hail from China so it is certain to be a huge event.

The display from the team representing GB are the display arm of Black Cat Fireworks UK concentrates on the Bond Theme which they have perfected so we are really looking forward to seeing what has been changed for the new competition.

Macau Fireworks Competition 2014

WHAT: Macau International Fireworks Competition 2014
WHERE: Macau – Macau Tower – Macau Tower shore front
WHEN: Monday 8th September, Saturday 13th September, Saturday 20th September, Saturday 27th September and Wednesday 1st October 2014
TIMES: The first firework display will start at approximately 9:00pm and the second fireworks display will start at approximately 9:40pm each night – further details below

2014 sees the 26th Macau International Fireworks Display competition (also known as the Macao Fireworks Competition 2014) bringing together the best of the best of international firework artists from across the World to compete for this much acclaimed title.

Over the years, hundreds of teams have competed in this event which takes place over a 5-week period and the final night is always on 1st October to coincide with China’s National Day.

This year’s line up has yet to be finalised but we will bring you the competitors and their countries in due course.

Previously, the UK have been well represented and teams from Millennium Fireworks, Jubilee Fireworks, Pyro 2000, Maverick Fireworks and even Standard Fireworks have all won awards.

2013 Honda Celebration of Light

Honda Celebration of Light

WHAT: The 2013 Honda Celebration of Light
WHERE: Vancouver, Canada
VENUE: English Bay
WHEN: Between 27th July and 3rd August 2013
FIRING TIMES: 10.00pm

If you are fortunate enough to be visiting Vancouver between the 27th July and 3rd August, prepare to be blown away as teams compete for the coveted title of winner of the 2013 Honda Celebration of Light.

The competing teams this year hail from the UK, Canada and Thailand will put on a pyro musical show to wow the gathered crowds. They are tasked with choreographing music and fireworks in front of anticipated daily crowds of over 400,000. The 30-minute shows are being judged on the general concept of their display, colour, originality, quality of the production and of course the choreography to their chosen musical pieces.

The teams will each compete on three separate nights.

Saturday 27th July 2013 UK – Pyro 2000
Wednesday 31st July 2013 Canada – Fireworks Spectaculars
Saturday 3rd August 2013 Thailand – Thailand Fireworks

All the firework displays start at around 10:00pm and will be set up on a barge in the bay.

The best spot to see the event is English Bay Beach. Here your options are either to go for some you pay for the food, drink and seating with a bird’s-eye view or indeed there are tens of thousands of spots you can go along for free with your family and friends and soak up the atmosphere, whilst partaking of some of the concessions on offer. Vancouver is world-renowned for their award-winning street food which will be available all along the beach area. They have everything you can think of from Mexican, Waffles and Crepes to Dim Sum, Salad bars and of course Kebabs and Burgers. So you won’t be stuck for choice.

Visitors will also be treated to a treat on the 31st July and 3rd August when the Red Bull Airshow will be wowing visitors with some magnificent aerial displays.
