DIY CONSUMER DISPLAY PACKS COMPARISON

As the 2019 Bonfire Night season gets underway, we compare our three best selling DIY consumer display packs which are all the same price and meet different needs.

All our DIY Consumer Display packs are created with the customer in mind. In the £295.00 bracket, we have three packs which pretty much cover all bases. We spend time in China designing, selecting and firing several products before they meet our exacting standards.

CONSPIRACY

51 FIREWORKS (14 BARRAGES (CAKES) AND 37 ASSORTED ROCKETS – RUN TIME 7 MINUTES PLUS ADDITIONAL FOR ROCKETS

This is our number 1 best selling firework pack which this year contains a selection of barrages, big a small with rockets that can be fired intermittently throughout the display.  Primarily, this pack is intended for a small/medium sized crowd and contains everything you need for a first-class display filling the sky with a multitude of effects and colours.

Our Conspiracy Pack is widely used at events including scout groups and community events where a small gathering is expected.  It does contain loud whistles and screeches along with other sonic and sky filling effects and sounds. This pack contains one of our biggest sellers which has stood the test of time; Thunderous Finale.

BLACK POWDER

82 FIREWORKS (22 BARRAGES (CAKES) AND 60 ASSORTED ROCKETS – RUN TIME 12 MINUTES (IF FIRING EACH ITEM INDIVIDUALLY) PLUS ADDITIONAL FOR ROCKETS

This pack was created with younger children in mind and contains a larger number of smaller but equally impressive little barrages (cakes) along with a huge range of rockets. If all the items are fired individually, this will give you a 12-minute display whereas if they are fired in pairs (where appropriate) it will be a little over 7 minutes.  The pack also contains one of the most popular little barrages in our range; Humming Hornets.

AFTER MIDNIGHT

10 FIREWORKS – ALL BARRAGES (CAKES) – RUN TIME 6 MINUTES

The last of the £295.00 packs is the elegant After Midnight which contains only large barrages (cakes). The pack is aimed at those wanting a high impact high noise display and certainly ticks all the boxes. This pack also boasts the fabulously loud Screaming Spiders.

So, there you have them – check them all out on our website which also has videos with every item in stock so you can view before you buy. Unfortunately, these packs cannot be changed or amended but if you are able to get over to see us in Tankersley, you also get several free products for collecting in person.

DIY. Whats the story ….

The Barnsley Boyz 50th Birthday Party Fireworks

Here at Epic, we know a thing or two about fireworks having been in the fireworks business for nearly 30 years now so we certainly feel qualified to offer advice relating to what it will take to make your event go with a bang!

We have, as you can well imagine, fired literally tons of pyro over the years.  Some good, some not so good but at the end of the day, we have weeded out the weaker stuff and left ourselves with a plethora of goodies with which to thrill our customers resulting in a range of great fireworks to suit every pocket and style.

If you have limited space and budget, why not try our wonderful Guido’s pack.  Named after the man himself, Guy Fawkes (Guido is the Spanish equivalent of Guy), it is collection only due to the number of individual fireworks but it does represent brilliant value for money.

The pack contains:

  • 23 rockets
  • 11 barrages
  • 15 fountains
  • 10 roman candles
  • 1 wheel
  • 1 mine
  • 10 packs of monster sparklers
  • And, a huge lantern

All this for £99.95 including VAT.

Alternatively, those with a little more space and a higher budget, you have a couple of choices.  You could go with either the After Midnight pack £295.00 inc VAT which contains some of the best barrages on the market (as detailed in Mens Health 2011) the incomparable Thunderous Finale and the Screaming Spiders or the Conspiracy Pack.

There are 10 of the best barrages in our range in the After Midnight, an all-round easy to light, fool-proof pack.  If all the items are lit consecutively this is an absolutely beautiful display of around 5-7 minutes duration (depends if you want to fire the two Thunderous Finale and 1 Screaming Spider together as we would recommend).

If you think that this is a little short in duration (although I can assure you that five full minutes of fireworks is a good display) you could consider our best seller which is the Conspiracy Pack.  Again priced at a very reasonable £295.00 inc VAT, it contains 10 barrages of varying sizes plus 46 rockets.  Just the timings for firing the barrages concurrently would be just over 7 minutes so add the rockets to the mix and you will have a sky full of fireworks for around 10-12 minutes (depending on how quickly you can light the rockets!)

These are of course just a very small sample of what is on offer from Epic fireworks and the packs are really easy to use and if you take away the fact that they are considerably bigger in size than your run of the mill garden fireworks they are just the same.  A little preparation before dark makes things a great deal easier and you can easily have ‘buddy’ firing where one side fires first and then the other so neither are likely to be returning to a burning firework.  We provide the set up plan, safety instructions, goggles, rocket launching tubes, safety lighters (portfires – brilliant as they are windproof and stay lit for a few minutes each so plenty of time to go from barrage to barrage) and to cap it off, if you come to collect any of our £295.00 or above packs, you will receive 4 big beautiful Sky Storm rockets too.

If you are considering putting on a show this year and would like our help and advice, please call us on 01226 749587 7-days a week or email me via the following [email protected] and either myself or one of my colleagues will get back to you as soon as possible.  We can look at your venue online and check out what space you have, recommend layout and firing order and even recommend insurers (if applicable) who may be able to help you.

Planning Ahead For The Queens Diamond Jubilee With Epic Fireworks

Greenwich fireworks on the River Thames celebrate 2012 Royal Borough status

So you’re planning a street party to celebrate the Queens 60th year as our reigning monarch? And why not, any excuse to have a good knees up, get to know your neighbours a little better and let off a few fireworks to celebrate is always good.

Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne on 6thFebruary 1952 with her coronation taking place on 2nd June 1953.

Only one other royal has accomplished this major feat, of course, this was, Queen Victoria (20th June 1837 until her death on 22nd January 1901).

The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend this year on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of June.

Adding an extra (for you lucky people who won’t be at work) Bank Holiday this year on Tuesday the 5th of June, with the May bank holiday being pushed forward to Monday the 4th.

Looking at long range weather forecasts and historical data we expect it to be a scorching weekend.

We at Epic, of course, will be open as usual, as we expect demand for fireworks to be very high.  Once again, plan ahead and place your order now to avoid disappointment.

If you want to have a small street party, you will need to tell your local council’s events or community’s team.

They will normally need to know about your event 4 to 12 weeks ahead of time.

Expect to be asked some questions about your plans, or they may just send you a simple application form, or advise you where you can download one.

The council’s application form usually asks for information like:

  • The date and time of the event.
  • How many will be attending.
  • Whether or not you want to close a road or section of road – and its name.
  • Whether the road is part of a bus route or used by through traffic.
  • A list of any properties or businesses affected.

Your council will check that the views of everyone affected have been taken into account before getting back to you.

Also, bear in mind that your local emergency services may need to get through in the event of an incident so it may be worth putting a contingency plan together to ensure your party goes ahead as planned.

If you don’t want to close a road you can organise a ‘street meet’ instead. This is a gathering in a park, driveway or cul-de-sac.  You can speak to your local council about your plans for a street meet.

The best websites we found with really useful information are (http://www.streetsalive.org.uk/) or http://www.streetparty.org.uk/royal-wedding-street-parties.aspx both have information on how to organise both a street meet or street party.

Street Meets are easier to arrange as they involve less disruption to the surrounding area and are generally approved quicker, so it may be worth considering which would suit your needs best.

Although some councils may ask if you will be taking insurance cover for your event, it varies from one area to another, we found it rarely required, but better to ask first as it could add around £50 to your costs.  Also be aware you will not normally be able to have fireworks on a public road, so think about your surroundings, any private land with the suitable safety distances would be perfect.

You can, of course, light fireworks on any day of the year between 7am and 11pm (with extensions until midnight on other specific dates (see our website for more details), So no difficulties there.

Whatever and however you wish to celebrate we will be here with help and advice, and top quality fireworks at the best prices.
