A staggering 55,000 spectators will fill the beautiful gardens at Herrenhausen to kick off this year’s fiercely fought pyrotechnic competition. The competition runs from May to September annually in what is described as the ‘best historic gardens in Europe’.

First to show their pyro skills are the team representing Italy; Scarpato Pirotecnia from Rimini, Italy and this team have won events around the world in their time and as one of the first families of fireworks, they have the expertise in their genes. Winners at Courcheval and Cannes as well as taking part in thousands of displays and festivals around the world.

There is a full programme of entertainment on offer, including;

• Live music
• Theatrical/street performers
• Dramatic art

There will be a Venetian carnival feel in a nod to the incredible talents of one of Italy’s first firework families.

This is the 28th event of its kind in Herrenhausen and the doors will be open to the public and the early entertainment will begin at 6pm and will run through until 11.30pm.
