ROUNDUP OF FIREWORK EVENTS THIS WEEKEND

This weekend was the busiest in the firework calendar so far this year with events taking place in every corner of the globe.

Here in the UK, we kicked off proceedings with another fabulous Firework Champions events and this time at the majestic Capesthorne Hall in Macclesfield. Competing on Saturday were PDC Fireworks from Peterborough who have won at previous F/C events at Capesthorne in 2014 and Belvoir Castle last year. Then, Blitz fireworks from Crewe, who have again won at Broughton Hall and Belvoir Castle and finally, Illusion Fireworks from Wallingford who won their first F/C event at their first attempt at Newby Hall last year.

The winners were BLITZ FIREWORKS from Crewe with a beautiful display. I did think that whilst the others were very good, they were incredibly smoky and Blitz was a little cleaner.

Then, there was the Battle Proms event at Castle Howard, York where they had a sky-full of fireworks for the rousing finale to Land of Hope and Glory; a brilliant end to a wonderful night of musical entertainment.

There was a huge event over the weekend in London’s East Ham under the stars at Central Park in London featuring live music and of course a huge fireworks finale on the Sunday.

Further afield, over on Canada there is Globalfest’s Trico Homes International Firework Festival and the Brazilian display was moved from the Thursday to the Friday due to a thunderstorm. This was just the start as Chile showed their wares to the World on Saturday. There are two more competing teams to take part on Tuesday and Thursday of this week which will be followed up by the Finale on Saturday 27th August by home display team Canada.

Finally, the third event in the Herrenhausen International Firework Competition over in Hanover, Germany. The competing teams from the Ukraine were firing – a stunning display with beautiful effects.

If you did get the chance to get along to any of the events, whether here or abroad, we would love to see any video or photographs you may have taken.
