Since its inauguration in 1990, the Celebration of Light event in Vancouver has thrilled and amazed whole generations of firework lovers from across the globe. It is the longest running offshore event of its kind.

Over a three night spectacular, three of the best in the World will battle it out for supremacy to be crowned winner 25th anniversary edition of the Celebration of Light.

Each of the teams competing has a wealth of knowledge between them and here is your starting line up:

Saturday 25th July 2015 - First to fire are the Team China. Team Lidu are one of the premier display teams in China earning them a top ten place in the Country, They have competing representing the Republic of China on a number of occasions and never fail to achieve a wow factor. They have promised to fill the night sky with light from a show to remember.

Wednesday 29th July 2015 - Next to show their wares are Team Brazil in this case being represented by the fantastic Group Vision Show who recently competed at the massive Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. Having checked out the footage from previous displays this team will certainly add lots of bright colour and symmetry to the table.

Saturday 1st August 2015 - Last but by no means least is the team from Canada represented this year by Archangel Fireworks who have won the event a number of times over the years. Hailing from Winnipeg, this team have the gunpowder prowess to take this competition onto the next level.

The scoring is out of 100 and the points are awarded in the following areas:

SIZE OF SHOW 10 POINTS
DESIGN OF ARTISTRY 30 POINTS
SYNCHRONICITY 20 POINTS
EFFECTS 15 POINTS
SOUNDTRACK 15 POINTS
QUALITY OF PRODUCTS 10 POINTS

The judges can deduct 5 points from any of the represented teams for poor/unsafe/untidy installation techniques.

The competition will go on rain or shine and there is entertainment on site for all the family from 2:00pm on each of the display days.

The fireworks are actually wholly set up and fired from barges in English Bay so they are well away from the viewers and ready to entertain the 400,000 spectators lining the banks.
