Check this out 🙂
I have just spent the last few hours going through the amazing pictures and the fantastic old-school artwork of a fascinating new book called FIRE Fascination, Firework and Festival by Mark Fleming.
FIRE explores how an ancient Pagan festivals have given rise to Halloween and Bonfire Night, two of our most evocative and lasting celebrations. The book looks at gunpowder, and how it helped shape the surface of our planet as well as give us the mesmerizing world of pyrotechnics. It looks too at how history has taken Guy Fawkes from being a hated villain to being the icon of the digital age and the grinning face of firework night. Remembered too are the companies of a lost industry that once made November their own.
FIRE is released first in a FREE (YES, we said free) PDF e-book version and a physical edition is planned for later in the year but will be subject to enough interest being shown to cover the printing costs.
You can download the 109 page e-book today, by visiting www.rumblebook.co.uk and just right-click the download button. It’s a biggie (20mb) so it’s probably best to download it from the site.
Please share this fantastic piece of work with family and friends and lets hope we generate enough interest so the book can go to print.
The epic fireworks team would like to congratulate Mark on his wonderful achievement and wish him the very best for the future.
