Fireworks To End Festival

Now in its fourth year, Farnham Creates will bring together more people, places, and ideas over the month of May, inspiring new audiences to get creative and get involved.
On Saturday, May 9, Farnham Maltings will kick off the celebrations with a one-day festival. This year, events will 'spread' from the Maltings, along the river, and into Gostrey Meadows.
At the Maltings, activities will take place in every space, from the Great Hall to the car park – from food and drink, live music, theatre, and dance to children's workshops, face-painting, comedy, a barn dance and much more. The festival will start at 11am and finish with a grand firework finale at 10.30pm. Gostrey Meadow will host market stalls, entertainment, food, and drink. There will also be the grand opening of the new bandstand, as well as theatre, belly dancing, and drumming. And as part of the festival, having received funding from the National Lottery's Awards For All scheme, local groups have been working with artists to produce giant sculpture, pottery, textile collage, and 'a show for one in the smallest theatre in the world'. Their creations will be showcased at venues across Farnham, forming a 'town trail'. A printed guide and volunteers will be available on the day to help people explore these spaces. Throughout May, Farnham Creates will continue, as venues across the town deliver a programme of exhibitions, music festivals, workshops, and more. Highlights include an 'Arts Car Boot Sale' at Potters Gate School and the Secret Gardens Music Festival.
And of course, what festival would be complete without the fireworks!
