This years winners of the prestigious Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2013 is team USA represented by the fantastic pyro team from Melrose Pyrotechnics Inc.
Following on from their major win at the Hanabi World Cup in 2010, this is a fantastic accolade to add to their already substantial haul of awards.
The American team wowed crowds and quite simply blew the competition away with their spectacular display. Featuring 20-minutes of highly dramatic sky artistry set against the back-drop of a clear black sky and reflected off the Han River, it was nothing short of BEAUTIFUL.

1st runners up Parente Fireworks of Italy
2nd runners up Tamaya Kitahara of Japan
3rd runners up being shared by the fabulous hosts Da Nang and Russia’s representatives Khan fireworks who all put on some spectacular displays.
Well done to all the competitors taking part and making this a spectacular example of how stunning pyrotechnics are.
The fifth Da Nang International Fireworks competition has once again shown that it is going to be around for a good few years to come yet.
For the second year, Italy have clinched the title of winner of the 2012 competition, beating off stiff competition from the home team from Vietnam, Canada, France and China. Italy are now champion of champions.
The Italian display was nothing short of beautiful and was watched in awe by over 32 thousand spectators. The display lit up the Han River for 23 minutes to put them on the winners podium again.
The performance named ‘Da Nang Rainbow’ on 30th April 2012 was designed by Parente Fireworks and lit up the sky of this multi cultural coastal city with its beautiful offerings. The fantastic and utterly breathtaking display incorporated a multitude of ground and aerial effect shells to the wonderment of the gathered crowds.
The French team staged a performance entitled legend of Marble Mountain with the message ‘let your heart lead the way and arouse your senses’ which they clearly achieved when they reached second on the winners rostrum, sharing with China with their story from ‘the land of cherry blossoms portraying peace, happiness and harmony in society.
As a result of this International competition, Da Nang is now recognised as one of the forerunners in the fireworks calendar raising its tourism numbers by a staggering 400,000 since the competition began in 2008.
The final standings were as follows:
1. Italy – Parente fireworks
2. France and China – Jacques Couturier Organisation and Liuyang Dancing Fireworks Group Co., Ltd
3. Canada and Vietnam – David Whysall International Fireworks Company and Team Da Nang representing Vietnam
Danang International Fireworks Competition 2012
2012 sees the fifth International Fireworks Competition getting under way between 29th and 30th April.
The event is to find the Champion of Champions as all four competing teams are previous winners of the Fireworks Competition. China, France, Canada and Italy will all be competing along with the hosts Team Vietnam.
This years theme the colours of Da Nang. The competing teams will once again thrill the crowds with colourful fireworks depicting DaNangs young, dynamic and rapidly developing city along the Han River.
The 29 April 2012 is to be the First Competition Night. The first competitors at 2035 from team Canada are David Whysall International Fireworks Company – Champion Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 20:08 followed by Team Da Nang at 21:10 and then at 21:45 team China Display – Liuyang Dancing Fireworks Group Co., Ltd; champion of DIFC 2009.
The second night’s displays start at 20:20 with Team France – represented by Jacques Couturier Organisation; champion of DIFC 2010 and concluding the competition at 20:55 with Team Italy Display – Parente Fireworks, champion of DIFC 2011. The displays will then be judged and the Champion of Champions will be announced.
